Old San Juan’s El Batey

Old San Juan is full of beautiful bright colored stucco buildings and a variety of palm trees. Its also well known for its great restaurants and bars. Frequented by locals, tourists, and celebrities, El Batey is a great, grimy dive bar on a strip made for the well-heeled. Drinks were cold and cheap and the vibe was chill and social. The wall was full of the Sharpie-written names of people who have frequented the bar over the years. There was also a cool lampshade made from dozens of business cards from all over the world.
